Fayette County's historic Glen Ferris Inn has been operating for over 180 years. Located along the Kanawha River and the Kanawha Falls, the building itself could even be over 200 years old. The inn is a hot spot for paranormal activity and many visit to try and see if they can get a glimpse of the ghosts that reside there.

The most well-known ghost at the inn appears to be a Confederate soldier dubbed “the Colonel” by the staff. This could be from when the inn served as a refuge for both Union and Confederate troops during the Civil War. Other stories say that the ghost is actually that of Aaron Stockton, the man who first turned the building into an inn. He was a War of 1812 Veteran and although it was never his title, he sometimes was called "Colonel" in real life. No matter who the ghost is, he seems to be pretty harmless and polite. Another eerie report at the inn is the voice of a young girl and the sounds of children playing when there are no children around.
