Bethany College

Bethany College is the oldest higher education institution in the state of West Virginia. It has a long history and is rumored to be quite haunted. The private college is believed to be haunted by at least two ghosts. The first ghost is that of a female student who reportedly jumped from the school’s clock tower because she was feeling homesick. Tales say her ghost has been spotted at the top of the clock tower when the clock strikes the time of her death. Another story says that another young woman, named "Sarah," is the ghost that haunts Phillips Hall. Sarah is believed to be the spirit of a student who hanged herself in the attic of the building. Her ghost is known to move objects around and play with the radios. The ghost of a sailor has also been seen climbing the building's drainpipe.
